Going electric just got easier with the Lepas L6 EV pre-order offer

Following its Festival of Motoring debut, the all-electric L6 EV is now available to pre-order with a limited package that includes home charging, installation and R5,000 in charging credit.

  • The Lepas L6 EV pre-order package includes a 7 kW home charger with full standard installation, providing customers with a more convenient way to prepare for home charging.
  • The limited offer also includes V2L functionality, a Type M charging cable, and a R5,000 charging voucher and card to support everyday electric-vehicle use.
  • With 160 kW and 275 N.m on tap, the L6 EV offers a WLTC-rated driving range of up to 450 km.

Lepas South Africa has announced a limited pre-order offer for the forthcoming L6 EV, bringing together home charging equipment, installation and charging credit as the brand prepares for the all-electric crossover’s local market introduction.

Customers who pre-order the L6 EV will receive a 7 kW home charger with full standard installation, V2L capability, a Type M charging cable, as well as a R5,000 charging voucher and card. The L6 EV pre-order offer is limited and terms and conditions apply.

The offer follows the L6 EV’s public debut at the 2026 Festival of Motoring, held at Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit from 28 to 30 August. The model formed part of Lepas’s five-vehicle display alongside the L6 ICE, L4 ICE, L4 EV and L8 PHEV, giving South African motorists an early look at the brand’s growing new-energy line-up.

Making home charging simpler

For many customers considering an electric vehicle, home charging forms an important part of the ownership experience. By including the charger and its installation as part of the pre-order package, Lepas aims to reduce the number of additional arrangements customers need to make separately.

The accompanying R5,000 charging voucher and card provide further support for charging away from home, while the included Type M charging cable adds flexibility for everyday charging requirements.

V2L, or Vehicle-to-Load functionality, also allows the vehicle’s battery to provide power to compatible external devices and appliances, adding another layer of practicality to the L6 EV’s electric architecture.

“Buying an electric vehicle also means thinking about how it will fit into your everyday life, particularly when it comes to charging,” says Jay Jay Botes, General Manager of Lepas and Chery South Africa.

“With the L6 EV pre-order offer, we’re bringing the home charger, standard installation, charging accessories and R5,000 charging credit together in one package. It’s about making the transition to electric motoring simpler and more convenient for our customers.”

The L6 EV arrives in South Africa

The pre-order programme follows the L6 EV’s first public showing in South Africa at the Festival of Motoring.

Powered by a front-mounted electric motor producing 160 kW and 275 N.m, the L6 EV sends power to the front wheels and offers a WLTC-rated driving range of up to 450 km.

It supports both AC and DC charging, with a 6.6 kW onboard AC charger and CCS Type 2 DC charging compatibility. Drivers can also select between Eco, Normal and Sport driving modes depending on the conditions and their preferences.

Independent rear suspension and electric power steering form part of the L6 EV’s chassis package, while 19-inch alloy wheels and red brake calipers provide a sportier visual touch.

Technology and comfort at its core

Inside, the L6 EV combines a comprehensive technology package with a strong focus on passenger comfort.

An 8.88-inch digital instrument display is paired with a 13.2-inch central touchscreen, with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, Bluetooth and voice control. An eight-speaker Sony audio system and 50 W wireless smartphone charging are also included.

The front seats are electrically adjustable, heated and ventilated, while the driver receives seat memory and four-way lumbar adjustment. Dual-zone automatic climate control, rear air vents, a panoramic sunroof, multi-colour ambient lighting and a power tailgate further contribute to the L6 EV’s standard convenience specification.

Comprehensive driver assistance

The L6 EV also features an extensive suite of safety and driver-assistance technology.

Its 20 advanced driver-assistance systems include Adaptive Cruise Control, Traffic Jam Assist, Integrated Cruise Assist, Blind Spot Detection, Lane Change Assist and Emergency Lane Keeping.

Automatic Emergency Braking provides additional support by detecting vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists, while Rear Cross-Traffic Alert and Rear Cross-Traffic Braking assist when reversing.

A panoramic camera system and Fully Automatic Parking Assist are supported by front and rear parking sensors, while seven airbags, LED headlights, Intelligent Headlight Control and rain-sensing wipers add to the vehicle’s safety specification.

A growing new-energy line-up

The L6 EV will sit alongside the internal-combustion-powered L6, giving customers greater choice between powertrain options within the same model family. Further information on the L6 EV, including final local specifications, pricing and market availability, will be announced in due course.
